Not a COVID-specialist, but I do hope so. Many cases of Covid can rely on treating the symptoms, and – a bit like with the flu – people can recover at home with rest, plenty of fluids and waiting it out. Some people will need more specialised treatment – in hospitals, where an apparatus can help them breathe or with medication to regulate the immune response of the body. The science community and the media have been focusing a lot on the vaccines (which are super important! preventing the disease spreading and making sure that the cases are milder will help massively to get it under control). However there is also clinical trails ongoing trying to figure out which drugs from the ones already available are most effective, and attempts at finding new drugs that could treat the disease more effectively. The more we know, the closer we can get!
