I didn’t suddenly notice that I wanted to be a scientist. Rather, the realisation came over several years starting a school then progressing as I went through university. It was more an evolution into being a scientist than a sudden change. I liked science, was good at it and so wanted to do it more!

I was too young to really think about anything but how exciting the next experiment would be!

I think being a scientist was one of many options I was considering, I tried other things before working as a scientist. It was only when I tried it out I realised it was my favourite job and I wanted to carry on working as a scientist.
Each person is different though and comes to decisions in different ways.
