Working away, pretty much as always. Except that I did not see the people working in my lab every day, and working in home-office with two toddlers can be a bit disruptive.
Teaching and research have continued, but in completely different ways, and with a lot more time spent making sure that students and colleagues are OK! So, basically, working very hard.
Working mostly from home. But now we are allowed to also go back into the lab, we just have to be very careful to control the numbers in the building (both too low or too high can cause us a problem) and take care about social distancing in the building.
My research students have been allowed into their labs and they’ve been working as normal while I’ve been working from home. Doing a lot of calculations for one of my students.
Working, staying at home & picking up new hobbies! I actually finished uni (my masters degree) during the first lockdown, but I was still working for a company (I did an industrial placement). I suddenly had lots of time after work once I was done with my degree! I’ve watched a lot of theatre plays, I started gardening (planted some sunflowers and poppies), made different flavours of hummus & started experimenting with baking vegan cakes (using things like chickpea water and vinegar – because it sounded like a fun project keep me busy). I’ve since started my PhD, so have slightly less time for baking this time round!
