One of my students is currently trying to look at how we might dispose of face masks more safely than simply dumping them in landfill. Another has been trying to study how a simple molecule called decalin sticks on silica and water surfaces.

Using Raman spectroscopy (shining laser onto sample and capturing the light reflected) to see if possible to detect how much drug is in a medicine (to make sure it was made properly).

Me personally? I really don’t remember, because it was over a year ago. I mostly look at other people’s experiments and fix faulty equipment these days.
