  My research in Beijing showed that moving industry outside of the city did not remove the problem of pollution, as it can travel long distances and still influences the air quality in Beijing today, I suppose this shows that the best ways to help with air pollution are to reduce or remove the source rather than move it somewhere else because it can travel! Indoors, we have found that without ventilation (extractor fan, windows, doors), lots of pollutants are generated in the air which take a long time to be removed, and these can be helped both by improved ventilation and air filtration systems.
